The Duane French Scholarship and Training Fund
Purpose: The Duane French Memorial Scholarship and Training Fund was established to identify and support the next generation of disability advocates in Alaska through local, state and federal advocacy training opportunities.
Access Alaska, in conjunction with the State of Alaska Department of Vocational Rehabilitation and University of Alaska Disability Services, annually selects students or staff to participate in advocacy training such as Key Campaign coalition in Juneau or NCIL conference in Washington DC. Annual award amounts do not exceed $500 and are to be used for travel, accommodations and registration or associated fees.
The Duane French Scholarship and Training Fund is not part of our general endowment fund and is restricted to funding academic and training activities that further the awardees knowledge of advocacy and its role in our communities.
Your generous donations go towards funding student and staff academic pursuits and training events such as professional development conferences and seminars that further the awardees knowledge of advocacy and its role in our communities.
